THE AUTOLOADER MULTI-BIT SCREWDRIVER, LIKE ALL GREAT TOOLS,

WAS BORN IN A SMALL GARAGE.

The Autoloader Multi-Bit Screwdriver, like all great tools, was born in a small garage. The idea was to develop a mechanism that delivered bits quickly, without having to touch them. It was obvious that people were tired of dumping bits out of the back end of their screwdriver to find the right bit for the job. After a year and a half of development, the Autoloader Multi-Bit Screwdriver was born.

In mid 2001 patents were applied for throughout the world and Franklin Tool went into production of Autoloader Multi-Bit Screwdrivers. In the fall of 2002 Sears Roebuck, USA was the first major retail customer. The Autoloader quickly established itself as a practical general-purpose hand tool and Sears requested a modified version of the Autoloader Multi-Bit screwdriver to be produced under their well known, nationally recognized Craftsman brand.

Other large retailers followed suit. Canadian Tire introduced it to the Canadian market with TV commercials in the fall of 2003, under their private label brand, Mastercraft Maximum. These were incredible achievement for the Autoloader screwdriver given its humble home garage beginnings.
